If you are planning a trip to Tuscany, in Italy, then you need to visit the amazing places mentioned in this article.
Saturnia Natural Thermal Springs
“Terme di Saturnia” (Saturnia natural thermal springs) do not need much introduction, they are quite famous all over Italian territory.
They have thermal water that gushes from years within a natural crater, at a temperature of about 37 °C.
Its therapeutic properties are varied on both the circulatory, respiratory, muscular and skeletal systems, and on the skin.
The water also promotes a natural action of peeling with exfoliating properties, detergents and antiseptic.
This is the perfect place for those who need a little rest : you will feel like being in a haven of peace.
Pretty popular are the “Cascate del Mulino” (the Mill Falls) : natural waterfalls that receive sulfurea-carbonic-sulphate-bicarbonate-alkaline water.
If you are very active, then you can visit the beautiful villages of Tuscany.
A few kilometers from the thermal springs, there is the town of Saturnia.
The pretty old town is reminiscent of the strong presence of the Romans, a period in which the city got its own political autonomy, becoming the “municipium” of the entire hilly area.
The village is small, and you can turn it in a short time, browsing through the boutiques and restaurants: the right place for a bit of relaxation after the thermal springs.
Small Villages of Tuscany
Montemerano is an up and down alleys, with arches and bricks set in.
Castle Square, the Church of St. George and the defensive doors are among the most fascinating things to see.
Another fantastic place is Manciano.
The center, slightly larger than the other two villages, however, gives a suggestive charm, probably due to the history that accompanies the entire region.
Born as a center of commercial importance in the twelfth century, its importance is also documented during the period of the Second World War, being the first center of Tuscany to see the entrance of the allies.
Located in a favorable position, reaching the summit, you can enjoy a view of the Maremma hills.
The last suggested place to visit here is Pitigliano, which is known as Little Jerusalem because they offered refuge to Jews from the Papal States, in the sixteenth century.
Mindful of this episode, the Jewish Quarter and the Synagogue are definitely not to be missed.
Protected by the walls that surround the city, it seems to be catapulted into another era where you can still feel the traditions alive: events happen throughout the year without interruption (from March 19 with the Torciata of St. Joseph, at the end of September with the Annual Fair).
Outdoor Activities : Playing Golf
If you like golf, then you can find amazing places.
Castelfalfi Golf Club is one of the most suggestive and striking places to play golf in Tuscany.
Here the “Mountain Course” (inside the golf route) is awarded at international level.
It’s a very challenging “par”, but is also suitable for less expert players thanks to five different starting points.
Or you can enjoy the “Lake Course”, with its amazing views, which is suitable for everyone.
Whether you are looking for a luxury accommodation in Tuscany or a simple B&B, you can find it!
Enjoy your stay!
